NHS Eye Care Services

  

The service has been developed to divert patients away from GP practices to an eye care professional able to see and treat many common eye conditions, helping to release GP capacity.


About the NHS Eye Care Service

The service DOES NOT require a GP referral

It operates on an open access basis across Coventry and Rugby.

In many cases are seen and treated within 48hrs.

Following the patient contact the eye care centre will advise the practice either by letter through the DOCMAN system or by secure email to ensure the patients records are kept up to date and practices are fully informed as to the treatment and care received by their patient.

The service has been developed to divert patients away from GP practices to an eye care professional able to see and treat many common eye conditions, helping to release GP capacity.

The NHS eye care centres will see children above 3 years old.

Please Note: The following centres are NOT able to examine or treat patients as part of this service until further notice.

  • Central Surgery Eye Clinic
  • Rugby and Boots Optician – City Centre Coventry.
