About Tissue Viability

Provides staff, patients and carers with wound care support and advice on the following:

  • Pressure ulcer (bed sore) prevention and management
  • Provision of equipment
  • Complex acute wound care
  • Long-term wound management including leg and diabetic foot ulcers
  • Wounds that fail to respond to treatment

Clinics are located at various locations with domiciliary visiting service if necessary.

Coventry Guidance  

The Tissue Viability Service provides specialist wound management advice to residents living in and registered with a Coventry GP.

We can support you in wound management to assist you in providing high quality clinical and cost effective care.

The Tissue Viability team is led by Louise McKeeney, Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist, BSc, RN, DPSN, DPSN CHS, and a team of experienced wound care Sisters, Wound Clinic staff, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

The Tissue Viability team offers:

  • Clinical wounds assessment
  • Home visits
  • Wound clinics
  • Training and education
  • Advice on wound management
Referrals

All patients are referred to us by an accredited referrer such as an allied health professional, hospital consultant or GP. Patients and their carers can also refer themselves. Please contact the service if you would like further advice and information on referrals.
