Change to GP Advice Line February 2026

As of Monday 2 February 2026, there will be a change to the way we process queries via the GP Advice Line

The service will switch to a new process, providing direct access for GPs to Consultants and their medical secretaries, enabling a smoother workflow and supporting increased response rates

Instead of using a generic GP Advice Line email address and telephone number, enquiries should now be directed via the Consultant supporting the individual GP Surgeries / Primary Care Networks – see below

Details of email addresses and telephone numbers can be found in the documents uploaded to the GP Gateway appropriate to your geographic area and listed in the attachments

The current GP Advice Line email address and telephone number will no longer be responded to, although information will be provided to advise GPs of who to contact and where to locate the relevant details

This change is being implemented to align with the Trust’s requirements to reduce capacity in line with financial plans, ensuring a more sustainable method of working while maintaining timely access to specialist advice for primary care

In the document before you file  click on properties:

Change online visibility to:

Press ok then Save
