Acute Neck Pain


Neck pain or a stiff neck is a common problem and generally nothing to worry about.

GP and Self-Management
  • Analgesia
  • NSAIDs.
Physiotherapy Service

If patients have ongoing musculoskeletal neck pain and have not improved with relative rest or analgesic advice, refer to the Adult Physiotherapy Service.

They will be assessed and treated with the following:

  • Self-management and education
  • Exercise therapy
  • Manual therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Soft tissue mobilisations
