Following the introduction of face-to-face sessions in October, we are increasing the number of face-to-face sessions to two per day (i.e. two face-to-face / four remote daily)
The Surge service is available from 8am-6.30pm Monday – Friday and can be booked by contacting:

PRIMARY CARE SURGE
The service provides additional capacity and resilience for local primary care, through the provision of general practice telephone appointments that practices can book their patients into, which will provide same day, episodic care.
Referral Criteria
Service 1: Urgent support for practices with unexpected workforce challenges due to illness or issues with isolation
Service 2: Telephone triage service, available at a cost to individual practices. Pre-bookable
Referral Process
Practices to complete the form linked right and email over to the contact email stated below and in the form, outlining the extent of their workforce capacity
Completion of the form is mandatory for a request to be considered. In the absence of the form or completion not fully, the request will be void
All requests are collated and are put through a scoring criteria which helps the service prioritise where support should be allocated
