NHS Thrive Into Work Service

 

Help more people find and retain employment across the West Midlands

More people have access to one-to-one dedicated employment support thanks to Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundations Trust’s Thrive into Work service.

The Trust’s Thrive into Work service supports people with physical and mental health conditions to find and retain work across the Black Country but has since expanded to deliver a specialist service to support people across the whole of the West Midlands.

Referrals:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Currently out of work, or at risk of leaving work due to sickness
  • Problems finding work, or staying in a job, because of health (physical or mental)
  • Registered with a GP in Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall or Wolverhampton

And you have:

  • A learning disability or difficulty
  • Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions
  • A mental health condition
  • A neurodevelopment disorder, for example ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder or Tourette Syndrome
  • Physical impairments, such as mobility difficulties
  • Sensory impairments, for example hearing or sight

Or you are:

  • Receiving support via a Community Sentence Treatment Requirement order
  • Receiving support from a Liaison and Diversion service
  • At risk of losing your home

About the service:

The team’s employment specialists help those referred to the service to find, and more importantly, stay in work alongside offering a range of support with things such as benefits advice, CV writing, interview techniques and much more including:

  • One-to-one support to suit your needs and employment goals
  • Support from your health care team to help you manage any difficulties
  • Advice on benefits to find out if being in work could increase your income
  • Help with finding a job if you are not in paid employment
  • Continued support once you have started in a job
  • Help talking to your employer about your needs at work
  • Regular and ongoing support online or by phone
