Neck Lumps

Most lumps and swellings under the skin are harmless and can be left alone.

Causes include lymph nodes (reactive, malignant, tuberculous), cysts, salivary glands, thyroid swellings.

For neck lumps, salivary swellings and thyroid swellings, please consider whether the patient should be referred directly as a Two Week Wait. Otherwise you can refer through the Referral Support Service, marked “urgent” if necessary.
