Paramedic Acute Visiting Service (PAVS)

  

Practices can request a Paramedic to visit a patient at home on behalf of a GP. The key objective is to reduce avoidable hospital admissions by providing a timely response to patients requiring a visit, and ensuring patients are cared for at home if appropriate.


About the Paramedic Acute Visiting Service

All Practices can book home visits in advance up to 1-2 weeks

Referral Criteria:

All patients over the age of 18 who require assessment on behalf of a GP and are registered with a GP practice in Coventry/Rugby.

All routine visits for shielding patients
Care/Nursing/Residential home visits
All patients are required to be triaged prior to the visit being accepted by the service.

Referral Process EMIS Practices

GPs no longer have to call to book a PAVS Home Assessment

Directly book an appointment via EMIS.

PAVS Practitioners will have a laptop with direct access to EMIS patient records.

PAVS Practitioners will have a laptop with your referral form uploaded.

Post visit the consultation details will be emailed to the practice.

Operating hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 6:30pm
